Planning Projects
Connecting Castle Country
This project was created for the Southeast Utah Association of Local Governments (SEUALG) in Price, Utah as my graduate degree capstone project.
The ALG wanted to study connections between the Utah State University-Eastern campus in Price and the downtown area of the city, with the goals of enhancing active transportation options and increasing economic development. I designed and administered a survey to over 200 students, and conducted 20 in-depth interviews with local stakeholders. I used that research to propose active transportation and economic development recommendations for the city.
Project 7B "Planning 101" Webinar
This webinar was organized in April 2022 for Project 7B, a community organization in Bonner County, Idaho that advocates for citizen engagement in land use planning issues in the county. Ahead of Bonner County updating its comprehensive land use plan, Project 7B requested a webinar that included details about the basics of that process.

Along with a partner, I organized the webinar through the Gateway and Natural Amenity Region (GNAR) Workshop course at the University of Utah. The webinar included two guest speakers and a question and answer session.
Salt Lake City Community Profile
This community profile was created during fall 2021 for a community and regional analysis course in the Master of City and Metropolitan Planning program at the University of Utah. The project includes analyses of demographics, economics, housing and transportation in Salt Lake City.

Data analyses and projections were primarily compiled using Microsoft Excel, with data sources from the U.S. Census Bureau. More details about data sources and methodology can be found in the report.
Liberty Wells 20-Minute Neighborhood
This group project was created during a Green Communities course in fall 2021 at the University of Utah in the City and Metropolitan Planning program.

Our group took the 20-minute neighborhood concept and applied it to the Liberty Wells neighborhood of Salt Lake City as a pilot project. I primarily contributed to the "Local Issues Addressed" and "Case Study Applied to Salt Lake City" portions of the report.
Ballpark neighborhood outreach and StoryMap
This project was compiled during fall 2021 in a Community Engagement in Planning course at the University of Utah in the City and Metropolitan Planning program.

My partner and I conducted public outreach in the Ballpark neighborhood of Salt Lake City, including over 20 interviews in our report. We also conducted asset mapping and neighborhood boundary assessments.

Our research was used to create an ArcGIS StoryMap highlighting the neighborhood. Click here to see the full Ballpark StoryMap.
